The billing that you receive in October is a special paving assessment that is voted on annually and is $100/lot that you own. It is used only for paving the roads. The $85/lot (raised to $150 for 2013 & 2014 for chip seal) billing that you receive in June is the MRMA (Mandatory Road Maintenance Assessment). It is used primarily for the maintenance of the roads (grading, gravel, labor, etc.), and administration of the association.

Payment of road fees is not optional! Collection and mandatory payment was authorized by the State of Hawaii Court Summary Judgment dated April 3, 1992, and further endorsed by legal case Orchidland vs. Murakami 2008. Please visit our legal files page to view those documents.
